Pizza was acceptable. Nothing to write home about. Not the nicest establishment, although it looks like they are remodeling so it might get better. The only drink options are canned drinks or bottles from a refrigerator.

Great pizza and wings. And open till 3:00 A.M. Excellent amount of toppings and cheese. The wings were amazing and are the perfect companion for great pizza

Captain's is your average pizza spot to go grab some grub while still in your wet bathing suit and sandy flip flops. There is nothing special about it.. The prices are decent. I always get the 2 cheese slices and a drink special for $5.95 and add topping for 50 cents each. The down side to ordering slices with toppings.. If they are not already made, they take a cheese pizza that is ready to serve and just throw the toppings on top with a bit more cheese. The staff is below average and not very personable at all. like zombies.. They have been remodeling for a long time and it still is unfinished and the floors are dirty with sand and flour, but it is right off the beach. its a good place if your hungry and want a quick bite but definitely not a place to dress up for. OH and they are open until like 3am.. that's awesome! Drunk munchies spot:)

Sigh... I really hope my experience was the results of it being New Year's Eve. The staff seemed overwhelmed and unapologetic for their lack of speed, order accuracy, and cahos at the register. The line was very long and lots of order errors caused customer's to hoover at the register. Outside of these issues the pizza and buffalo wings we ordered were "ok". It was a few steps above frozen pizza and several below delicious NY pizza.

I tried not to read the reviews before eating here because I was way too hungry! Pizza and service were good. Looks like they are in the middle of updating the place. We would eat here again.

What the heck is this place ? We ordered a veggie and pepperoni slice. It cost like $6 a slice. What we got after waiting for 20 minutes was a slice of old cheese pizza with our new toppings just slapped on top with another pinch of cheese melted on. Gross. Just gross.

The one star was generous. My and my friends came in for pizza and mozzarella sticks and left with stomach issues the rest of our trip to Clearwater. Stay away unless you want to be hugging the toilet for the remainder of your beach trip. Oh, and no air conditioning at this place either. It was awful.

So my husband was hungry so he decided to just have a slice of pizza. We did not know this place was on Dirty Dining. The pizza was okay...nothing special. The staff was not friendly...You can just see on his face that he did not wanna be there at all. Please go elsewhere....I do not know if this place still has violations after it was reported on Dirty Dining but to know that the owner was the kind of person who did not care to have a safe and clean environment to serve his food....just not worth going.

Great pizza and gyros... The desserts are amazing too, I love the cannolis and teramisu.I'm always stoping there when on the beach

The pizza is mediocre and the posted menu is not very informative. When I inquired if I could order a slice of a pizza with toppings (all that the menu said was cheese slices) the woman behind the counter looked at me like I was stupid. For two slices the cost was $8... A little pricey for nothing special.

The staff at the Hilton must have hated us. Why would they have recommended this place to us? Well, maybe because it was 2am and the only place open. The pizza was flavorless and bland. My wife said it was like frozen pizza, but that's just insulting....to the frozen pizza makers. If the Captain ever gets sentenced to a crime, his punishment should be to eat his own pizza for the rest of his life.

Awful pizza, dirty bathrooms, floors, and walls. Will never go back! Worst pizza ever!

It was good we had it twice in a week , one time take out and the other delivery . We had 13 in our group and no body had any complaints they even delivered to our room at the sand pearl , it's not the best I've ever had but it does justice in a crunch

This place maybe gets 1 and a half stars just because they were one of the only delivery places open late on a Sunday night. With that said, it might have been the worst pizza I've ever had. You know that phrase that says pizza is like sex because when it's bad it's still pretty good? Well, whoever coined that never ate at Captain's. The crust, and it shouldn't even be called that, was doughy and soggy. I ordered a Hawaiian and the pineapple looked and tasted as if it came out of an expired can. The pieces of pineapple were almost clear and translucent and just tasted like water. Whatever else that was on that pizza was gross and made us sick. We were all ill the entire next day with stomach issues. And at almost $30 for an extra large pizza, it leaves nothing positive to say about anything. If you're up late in Clearwater and this is the only place open...walk down to the beach and eat a handful of sand.

Pizza is okay tastes fine. But we go there for the gryo. And 3 out of our 4 nights down there was no gyro available. Simply not acceptable.

The pizza crust is decent, but that's as good as it gets. Their special is 2 slices of cheese pizza and a soda for $5.95.

We liked this place. Pizza was good and they are open really really late!

Thinking about this pizza makes my mouth water. It is SO delicious. It reminds me of New York Style Pizza (btw, I was born in Brooklyn, next to a pizza place, so I know the real deal)---the cheese is gooey and almost slides off the pizza, the crust is thin and SLIGHTLY burnt, and sauce is sweet and delicious. I haven't tried the pizza with toppings, but I believe it tastes 10x better with just plain cheese. I reeeaaaaalllllyyyy, REALLY like this pizza. The place itself is settled right next to the beach and reminds me of my care-free summer days as a Floridian youth. CONS: The inside is very much EH and the people that work there...aren't exactly your friendliest, mom and pop type people. Also, it is cash only, from what I remember. BUT the pizza is totally worth it.

This is definitely a hidden gem. It's one of those that looks a little scary but once you meet the owner and taste the pizza you forget about that. Reasonable price, freshly made pizza to order, very nice man. I will be back.

Worse than institutional pizza. Crust was dry, pizza wouldn't fold without breaking, and toppings were bland.

Hands down the worst pizza I have ever had. The crust was seriously undercooked, the sauce was tasteless, and the toppings were uninspired. Two thumbs down.
